Successful 1st Conference for the Development of the Motorways of the Sea

The success of the Motorways of the Sea is beyond doubt, but its implementation are not as fast or wide as one would hope because the maritime industry has not been enough ambitious opting for European funds for the development of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) as it has been, for example, the railway sector. This is the main idea behind the 1st Conference of the Industrial Group Ad-Hoc for the Development of the Motorways of the sea held this week (20th-21st November, 2017) in Barcelona.

This conference is the starting point of a cycle of presentations that will take place until June 2018 addressed to achieve that the industry makes a step forward to fight for its own interests in a clear and open manner. This first conference, that has been organised by CIMNE with the support of Port de Barcelona, allows mark the beginning of this cycle that could make a difference in the maritime industry and its relationship with the European Union.
